Add these adorable fake desert palm trees to a themed sand table in your preschool at church. They can be as tall or short as you need.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Cut a length of stiff paper 36 inches long by 7 inches wide at one end to 3 inches at the other.
- For the first 12 inch length leave the cut plain, after that add a 4 inch fringe.
- Roll the hole length of 36 inches for the trunk of the palm, carefully pulling at the slashed length in the center of the tube to extend the length (height) of the trunk.
- Paste between the palm ruffled edges.
- Use a bit of masking tape to hold this trunk in position as it dries.
- Once dry remove the masking tape.
- Cut long green construction paper fonds.
- Fringe the edges of the fonds with scissors and glue these in the center hole of the trunk.
- Once dry, fluff out the fonds of the palm tree and poke the ends of the trunks into the sand.
